Auto Refinishing in Ranburne, AL

The compliment we get most often about paint work is some version of "you cannot tell." A customer who had his truck repaired here put it plainly: matched the old and new perfectly. That is the entire objective, and it is harder than it sounds.

Old paint and new paint are different paint

Your factory code describes the color as it was mixed the day the vehicle was built. Since then it has spent years under Alabama sun, and the pigment has moved. Spray the code straight from the formula and you get a panel that is technically correct and visibly wrong.

So we mix, spray a test card, carry it outside, and hold it against the actual vehicle in daylight. Then adjust and do it again. Metallic and pearl finishes get checked from more than one angle, because the flake reads differently as you move around the car.

Blending is not optional

Color goes into the neighboring panels and the clear coat is carried to a natural break, so there is no line anywhere for your eye to catch. A repair stopped at the edge of the damaged panel announces itself in a parking lot, no matter how good the match was, and it is the surest sign of an auto body shop saving refinish time.

The whole range

Small touch-ups, clear coat restoration on a finish that has started to fail, single-panel work after a collision, and complete repaints when a vehicle deserves starting over. Whole-car refinishing is mostly preparation: strip, straighten, prime, block, and only then color.

We also take on custom and one-off finishes, which very few shops around here will touch. People bring paint work to Ranburne from Heflin, Fruithurst, and Edwardsville, from Anniston and Oxford, and from Carrollton, Bremen, and Villa Rica in Georgia, usually because somebody told them about a job we did.

Free estimate, and we will look at it outdoors with you rather than under shop lights. Ranburne, weekdays 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, or call (256) 568-3423.
